Sorry there hasn't been a new episode of Chuck's Devils for a while. After working on the comic for four years straight, I've been feeling a little burned out. However, I had an idea that might help hold you over between episodes.

Introducing Chuck's Mini-Devils! These will be quick, non-canon pages that will focus more on comedy than drama. Since each comic will be shorter, they'll star smaller, chibi versions of Candace, Yu-Ri, and Lily.

The first minisode is a special holiday comic called Merry Kissmas. I hope you'll like them!

Back in the 90's, me, my brother, and some friends had an idea for disposing of rotting Halloween jack-o'-lanterns. We decided to pay tribute to Gallagher, a popular comedian at the time, and build our own Sledge-O-Matic.

After Gallagher's passing on November 11th, 2022, I combed through footage from our old VHS videos. This compilation of us smashing pumpkins and other food items is our homage to the “Wizard of Odd".

Yu-Ri confides in Lily, revealing she was an aspiring artist in South Korea until an obsessive ex caused her to flee to America. He tracked Yu-Ri down and assaulted her new girlfriend, a history Yu-Ri fears could repeat if she gets too intimate with Lily.

The Devils take a much needed break after all of the drama they've endured and go on dates with their prospective partners. Yu-Ri and Lily spend the evening out on the town, but Yu-Ri is still reluctant to engage in public displays of affection.

Yu-Ri emerges from the depths of despair to help her fellow Devils carry out a plan that results in Rose receiving her comeuppance. Afterwards, Yu-Ri expresses her gratitude and reveals her true feelings for Lily, and they become more than friends.

After four years, 24 episodes, and 216 pages, Chuck’s Devils is halfway done! Candace, Lily, and Yu-Ri have overcome their differences, broken hearts, and a rival thief. They’ve gone from strangers, to best friends, and even girlfriends for two of them.

What does the second half of the series have in store for our Devils? I hope you’ll stick around to find out!

Candace returns to the club to challenge The Disco King for his flashy medallion, but stumbles and bruises her foot as well as her ego. Despite soaking in the disco lifestyle, the only thing Candace hasn't been able to absorb is the funky dance moves.

Yu-Ri snaps and loses control of her emotions after Lily is attacked by a cantankerous cad. While trying to console her friend, Lily professes her love for Yu-Ri. But memories of a curtailed relationship from Yu-Ri's past prevents her from reciprocating.

While posing as reptile wranglers, our scammers accidentally catch more than a snake: a baby girl! The beleaguered babysitters try to operate Devils Daycare while Chuck negotiates with her parents.

I needed a little break from Chuck's Devils after focusing on the comic regularly for about three years straight. I decided to spend the month of September working on a couple of other projects on the back burner.

First, I made these 12 inch tall wooden dominoes. My brother and I used to put on a domino toppling show at the Brattleboro Museum in Vermont from 2008-2012. The event has since been taken over by "kids" half my age that still have healthy knees, backs, and butts. I plan on attending the 14th annual exhibition after being away for nearly a decade. I'd like to present these to the new generation of domino topplers as thanks for keeping the show going.

Next, I've always had a strange fascination with prize wheels. Building an eight or sixteen space prize wheel with K'NEX is simple since they go together at 45 degree angles. I needed a way to make 20 equal(ish) sections to recreate the big wheel from The Price Is Right. I figured out how to do it by adding spacers along the perimeter.

Anyway, back to Chuck's Devils. I'm only five episodes away from the halfway point for the series. Hopefully I'll get there by mid to late 2022. :)
